Manufacturing or selling pharmaceuticals is governed by rules and anyone who has a product or idea of a product must go through a number of processes. Many of these steps are controlled by authorities.
Compassionate use program, CUP
Patients in Sweden can gain access to medicinal products that are not authorised. One way is through a compassionate use programme, known as CUP.
